This black son of Enrico Caruso and the Falke mare Kapstadt needs no introduction. One of Europe's most frequented and most successful sires, he not only is a proven FEI dressage horse with enormous jumping ability himself, but he also reliably passes on these qualities to his offspring.
Tolstoi, a Premium Stallion at Neumuenster in Kostolany's first crop, already sired quite a few good horses of his own, among them the full brothers Farinelli and Freudenfest, one chestnut, one bay, but both of them Grand Champion at the Neumuenster approvals.
Another approval Champion was Kostolany's black son Gribaldi, meanwhile one of the most prolific sires in Europe, too, and an internationally successful competitor in the dressage arena himself. His son Painted Black is already competing internationally under Anky Van Grunsven.
Other approved sons by Kostolany include Silver Moon, Bertone, Sans Souci and his bay full brother, the Grand Prix dressage stallion Showmaster. Especially Silver Moon has been become a prolific sire of international dressage competitors in Denmark. At the World Equestrian Games 2006 in Aaachen, Germany, the only 9 years young gray mare Blue Hors Matinee by Silver Moon won the Individual Bronze Medal ridden by Andreas Helgstrand.

Numerous highly decorated mares are prove for Kostolany's outstanding qualities as a broodmare sire. Not only do his daughters look good and inherited their sire's movement and temperament, they also pass these qualities on to their own foals.
Kandra, for example, like our own mares Koeur d'Alene and Kontrapunkt out of a Schwalbenherbst daughter, produced the outstanding daughter Kasixta and the approved Kasparow by Sixtus, the black Hepburn (dam by Memphis) foaled the bay Summertime filly Histoire in 2002, the best foal at the Haemelschenburg foal branding with very high marks, among them a 10 on her trot. In 2003, her bay son Harry Potter by Summertime also received a 10 for his trot and his total score was only 1 point less than his full sister's 59.
We have believed in this stallion from the beginning, so it comes at no surprise that 2 of our mares are daughters of this great sire. Check out Kontrapunkt and her full sister Koeur d'Alene on their pages.
Here just a few Kostolany babies to give you an idea of the outstanding quality of this sire.

Here an example of the quality Kostolany produces. This colt, Santiago, was bred by Heather Buttrum from Sovereign Farms in Arizona. Congratulations to this definite stallion prospect!
