Premium Stallion at his Neumuenster approval, this young son of leading sire Michelangelo is already leaving his mark with numerous high scoring foals, among them the Haemelschenburg owned filly out of Schwalbenspiel by Exclusiv, who received 63 at her foal inspection, including two 10s. Best foal of the show was another Summertime filly, Histoire out of Hepburn by Kostolany. Her trot was worth a 10 to the judges.

And this is what Lars Gehrmann, breeding director of the Trakehner Verband, had to say about Summertime's first foal crop: " Haemelscheburg's Premium Stallion Summertime celebrated the start of his breeding career with a bang. Numerous well muscled foals with three above average basic paces and a very athletic appearance caught the eye. The movement shows a lot of impulsion with good balance, excellent activity from behind and an especially good canter. Great lines and well set necks are also marks of the mostly very well conformed Summertime-foals."
While Summertime babies have been excelling at foal and mare inspections all over Europe, the stallion reached another pinnacle at the 2007 Hengstmarkt at Neumünster, where his son Songline won the stallion approvals and sold for a record price of 320.000 Euro to Canadian breeder Gerhard Schickedanz.

His performance as a sire does not come as a surprise, however. Breed the best to the best has always been the guideline for successful breeding, and in Summertime's case the pedigree reads like a who is who of Trakehner nobility.
Sire Michelangelo is a successful FEI dressage competitor himself and constantly sires horses with excellent conformation, temperament and ridability. His son Kennedy was Grand Champion at his Neumuenster approval and the most expensive stallion ever to be sold at the Hengstmarkt. Daughter Schneeflocke was top selling mare at Neumuenster and showed off her breathtaking movement again at the 2002 Gala Show. Michelangelo's half brother Monteverdi left Neumuenster as approval champion and is on his way to become a prolific sire, too.
Dam Sarogna by Elite Sire Arogno was a top riding horse herself, qualifying for the German Championship and already produced outstanding sport horses. She traces back to the family of Sophie, which among others produced ATA approved stallion Samurai.
